Lovely Leek and a lot of 'firsts'!
Earlier this month I had the pleasure of playing the Leek Blues & Americana festival for the first time. It was a lovely little festival spread throughout different town-centre venues. I played in the gorgeous covered courtyard of Leek Bar & Grill. The organisers and audience were lovely, and I even got presented with my own portrait by local artist Gavin Bowyer (see photos)! I also got to meet some great people, including the fab Mike Ross and Kerry Fearon - both amazing performers - and the folks from Forever British Country, who are great supporters of British country artists. They gave me an interview which is now up on their website. Take a look here: https://www.foreverbritishcountry.co.uk/post/banjo-jen-interview-video
Last month I also played three lovely 'first' gigs - my first outing for 'Wagonwheel Presents' promotions, my first guest appearance for the wonderful Chorlton Country Club folks, and my first Songwriters round for Steel & Wire. Hopefully I'll get to do more of all those things in the future! Next month I'm playing my first gig for 'Hen House Presents' over in Manchester, supporting Robin Evans. Really looking forward to that one. Then I'm sure before I blink it'll be Christmas! Happy Autumn folks xx
